Singapore Government’s comfort with new media

From today’s Straits Times.

“There is no dirty little secret which the PAP is trying to hide from its people and that’s why the Government is actually very comfortable with new media.”

I feel uncomfortable after reading this statement. It suggests that, in theory, the Government would be uncomfortable with new media if there comes a day when the party has something to hide.

Under such circumstances, the Government would appear to be working for the benefit of the dominant political party, rather than the other way round.
