Skagit Tulip Festival (Day 100 in Vancouver)

I went for a day tour to Skagit, Washington today for the annual Tulip Festival, together with some friends. We each paid just $23 + $6 tips for the trip, which is a pretty good deal.

Being a typical Saturday morning, there was a long line of tour buses at the border. We waited more than an hour in line for our turn to go through immigration.

We first went to a oyster farm where each of us sampled a freshly shucked oyster for free – I’m not so much an oyster fan, but it was sooo good and had no fishy odor at all.

Then, we spent an hour in Tulip Town pimping for photos with tulips.

Next, we went to the Seattle Premium Outlet where I bought a Coach bag for the SO. There were 2 Singaporean women (I knew from their accent and occasional addition of hokkien and Singaporean words) behind me who throughout the queue was talking about how rich they are (I.e. “I was forced to buy a show dog quality dog because my husband wanted only the best”, etc etc).

It was a long day, but I thoroughly the warmth and sunshine there compared to the relatively cool weather in Vancouver.
