It's My Life

Vancouver Flea Market (Day 18 in Vancouver)

Today is a beautiful sunny day as compared to the snowy, overcast yesterday. A good day to go out!

I went out with a couple of Singaporean friends today. We visited the Vancouver Flea Market. It was… just like any other flea markets I guess. It’s probably about the size of a large supermarket that’s all. It actually costs $0.75 to go in as a visitor! That’s something that defies conventional marketing theory. Well, I guess $0.75 is really nothing here to the normal Canadian but in a day they can very well collect quite a lot in admission fees.

We proceeded thereafter to Granville Street where there was a dollar shop with lots of stuff going for $1 – of course the quality shows. But I had a deal on a 7 foot Belkin Ethernet cable at just $1… this must be the best deal I’ve had in Vancouver so far… but there’s a problem – it’s still not long enough!

Went to shop for more groceries again on the way back… I succumbed to the evil of instant foods when I bought 6 packs of instant pasta of different flavours … they were just 99 cents each, a deal I couldn’t resist, plus there was Singapore Laksa flavour! I have to taste what Laksa pasta is like… hehe

Had dinner at my friend’s place tonight… he cooks better than I do I think, but I cook with less oil so its somewhat healthier – ah well, healthy food don’t taste good most of the time, that’s my consolation =)
