Regular readers may have realized that I stopped blogging about socio-political topics for quite a while – there are a few reasons why.
1. I had been very busy in the last few months trying to finish up my final year project and studying for my final exams.
2. I am going through a rough period now, trying to find a career path in this economic recession – not sure whether to “just find any job”, prepare for further studies, hold out till good jobs surface, or to start my own business.
3. I am a little tired of the same things manifesting in different ways in the Singapore socio-political scene – ministers and senior civil servants shooting their mouths off and pissing off Singaporeans, not enough care and attention given to low-income workers and disadvantaged people, the lack of alternative representations (i.e. opposition) in parliament, the lack of response from the government with regards to netizens’ criticisms and feedback, the mainstream media’s sucking up to the government and selective/biased reporting.
So there. Moving forward I will still continue to blog about such matters, but only when I find the time and when I feel I have strong opinions to share.
